Wide margin first-crop winners for Neko Bay

Magic Bay, trained by Scott Mullins, took command soon after the start of the 6f event at Arlington Park and cruised clear to win in 1.13.85.

Magic Bay was bred in Kentucky by Meritage Ventures out of Absolute Magic, bought for $35,000 by Chad Schumer at the 2008 Keeneland November Sale. By Unbridled, Absolute Magic is out of multiple Grade 1 winner Chaposa Springs.

Netcents, the easy two-length winner of his maiden at Louisiana Downs, was bred in Kentucky by Eureka Thoroughbred Farm. He is out of the stakes-placed Ardum Relaunch, a stakes-placed Cee’s Tizzy mare bought for $20,000 by Chad Schumer at the 2010 Keeneland November Sale.

Trained by John Shirreffs, Neko Bay won five races in the colours of Mr and Mrs Jerome S. Moss led by the 2010 San Pasqual Handicap (G2) at Santa Anita Park. He was also beaten only a neck when second to Misremembered in the 2010 Santa Anita Handicap (G1).

He is out of Grade 2 winner Brulay, a Rubiano half-sister to champion and successful sire Lemon Drop Kid. As a descendant of Weekend Surprise, he is also related to champion sire A P Indy.
