Unspurned bags second leg of the Canadian Triple Tiara for Jay and Christine Hayden

July 13

Congratulations to Jay and Christine Hayden, whose homebred filly Unspurned made every pole a winning one to take Friday’s Bison City Stakes – the second jewel of the Canadian Triple Tiara – at Woodbine.

The Lemon Drop Kid filly, who was also G3-placed as a two-year-old, boosted her earnings to $287,984 while improving her record to 3-1-1 for Roger Attfield.

Unspurned is out of Banga Ridge, who was purchased by Chad Schumer as agent carrying Unspurned for $130,000 at the 2010 Keeneland November Sale.

Successful in the Darley OBS Sprint Stakes and a track record-setter over 6f herself, Banga Ridge is a Snow Ridge half-sister to Grade 1-placed two-year-old Coronet Of A Baron and Sayaad, the recent winner of the Forbidden Apple Stakes at Belmont Park.
