Top 2yo Circular Quay sold to stand in Panama
Trained by Todd Pletcher on behalf of Michael and Doreen Tabor, Circular Quay won five starts and $1,505,434 in prize-money. He was a top-class two-year-old, winning the Bashford Manor Stakes (G3) at Churchill Downs and Hopeful Stakes (G1) at Saratoga, in which he was a wide-margin winner over Scat Daddy, before running second in the Lane’s End Breeders’ Futurity (G1) and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1).
At three, he won the Louisiana Derby (G2) at Fair Grounds and returned to the same track a year later to take the New Orleans Handicap (G2).
From three crops of racing age, Circular Quay is the sire of 50 winners led by Love My Katy, winner of the Clasico Eduardo Cautino Insua (G1), and Verso A Verso, winner of the Florida Stallion My Dear Stakes at Calder.
