Successful 4yo return for high-class Unspurned

The Lemon Drop Kid filly, trained by Roger Attfield, was settled in midfield by Alan Garcia, who angled her out for a run near the top of the stretch before kicking her clear to win by a length.

Group 3-placed as a two-year-old and successful in last year’s Bison City Stakes – the second jewel of the Canadian Triple Tiara – Unspurned took her record to four wins from 12 starts and $452,969 in prize-money.

Banga Ridge was a talented filly herself who won the Darley OBS Sprint Stakes and set a track record over 6f. She is a Snow Ridge half-sister to Grade 1-placed two-year-old Coronet Of A Baron and Sayaad, winner of last year’s Forbidden Apple Stakes at Belmont Park.
