In the past few years, Chad Schumer has purchased the dams of the following horses BEFORE they were Stakes Winners:

Kip Deville, multiple G1 winner including the Breeders’ Cup Mile; his dam was purchased for $6,000. Further, Kip Deville was from the second crop of Kipling (pictured), who was retired to stand at Mighty Acres in Oklahoma in a deal brokered by Chad Schumer.

Keen Ice, who defeated American Pharoah in the G1 Travers Stakes and now stands at Calumet Farm in Kentucky; his dam was purchased for $80,000 at Keeneland.

Stormy Lucy, winner of the 2015 G1 Matriarch Stakes; her dam was purchased for $32,000.

Breeders Cup Distaff winner Round Pond, a multiple G1 winner of over $1,900,000; her dam was purchased for $20,000.

Rahy's Attorney, winner of the G1 Woodbine Mile with earnings over $1,000,000; his dam was purchased for only $8,000.

Thorn Song, dual G1 winner of over $1,000,000; his dam was purchased for the Equine Mutual Funds partnership for only $26,000.

Australian Champion Fashions Afield, Group 1 winner and earner of over AUS$1,974,000; her dam was purchased privately off the racetrack.

Akheel, winner of the King Abdulaziz Cup (KSA G1); his dam was purchased for $17,000.

Stakes winners and performers during 2016 - 2018 include:

Paid Up Subscriber, winner of the G2 Fleur de Lis Handicap and G1-placed; her dam was purchased for $37,000.

Breaking Lucky, winner of the Prince Of Wales Stakes and a G2 winner who has been G1-placed on multiple occasions; his dam was purchased for $50,000.

Theory, winner of the G3 Futurity Stakes; his dam was purchased for $45,000.

Great Minds, winner of the G3 Texas Mile Stakes; his dam was purchased for $16,000.

Jennifer Lynnette, winner of the G3 Royal North Stakes, 2017; her dam was purchased for $210,000.

Kasuga, who ran second to Jennifer Lynnette in the G3 Royal North Stakes, 2017; her dam was purchased for $15,000.

G3-placed Galton; his dam was purchased for $27,000.

Stakes winner and G3-placed Gianna’s Dream; her dam was purchased for $10,000.

Current 3yo Queen’s Fate, a narrow second in the Royal Lassie Stakes on her most recent start; her dam was purchased for $15,000 in 2017.

Unbeaten Just One More Stakes winner Third Party; his dam was purchased for $80,000.

Unbeaten City Of Laurel Stakes winner Prince Of Hempt; his dam was purchased for $20,000.

Also Hunter’s Humor ($10,000), Lucky Lorretta ($13,000), Manasarova ($11,000), Welder ($22,000).

OTHER STAKES WINNERS INCLUDE:

Cristina's Journey, winner of the G2 Pocahontas Stakes; her dam was bought for $12,000.

The G1-placed Milehigh Butterfly; her dam was bought for $45,000.

Sabatini, G1-placed in the Hollywood Starlet Stakes; her dam was purchased for only $7,000.

Missvinski, stakes winner and multiple Group-placed in France. She was second, beaten a half length, to Darjina in the G1 Prix d'Astarte at Deauville. Her dam was purchased at Keeneland for $20,000.

Slip and Drive, third in the G1 Shadwell Turf Mile; her dam was purchased for $35,000.

Barbecue Eddie, third in the 2007 G1 Ancient Title Breeders Cup and a G2 winner at Meydan; his dam was purchased as a broodmare prospect for $35,000.

Crown of Thorns, G2 winner and one of the early favorites for the 2008 Kentucky Derby before succumbing to injury; his dam was purchased for only $33,000.

Don Cavallo, winner of the G3 Dominion Day Stakes; his dam was purchased for $17,000.

Japanese G3 winner Siberian Meadow; his dam was purchased for $32,000.

Zada Belle, who with her win at Santa Anita ran the co-fastest Beyer speed figure for a 2YO filly in North America in 2008. Subsequently a stakes winner at Saratoga and G2-placed, she was purchased privately by Sheikh Mohammed's Darley Stables for a reported $3,000,000. Her dam was purchased at Keeneland for $47,000.

Also Good Luck Gus ($13,000), Ground Transport ($7,000), Macho Babe ($30,000), Strawberry Baby ($2,000), Where's Rosie B ($18,000) Unspurned ($130,000).
