Saham easy winner of Crowd Pleaser

In seven completed starts, the three-year-old son of Lemon Drop Kind has won twice for earnings of $94,020. He was also third in the Transylvania Stakes (G3) at Keeneland but later demoted.

Trainer Brendan Walsh (@brenpwalsh) tweeted following the win:

“Delighted to have a PA bred stakes winner with Saham today, huge thanks some judges!”

Also on Saturday, Paid Up Subscriber made it two out of three for Al Stall when successful in the $85,000 allowance at Saratoga.

The daughter of Candy Ride is out of Shriek, a Street Cry mare purchased by Chad Schumer for $37,000 while in foal to leading sire Scat Daddy at last year’s Keeneland November Sale. The mare has since foaled a Scat Daddy filly for our long-time clients Eureka Thoroughbred Farm.

Paid Up Subscriber was coming into Saratoga off an impressive maiden victory at Churchill Downs on May 1. She fired in a pair of bullet works leading up the race, including a best-of-102 half-mile in :47 3/5 at Saratoga on July 18, and duly delivered yesterday, making up ground and weaving in between rivals to nail her foes on the line.

A two-time winner who was also second in the Safely Kept Stakes, Shriek is a half-sister to G2 winner Stanley Park and Listed winner Turf Melody.
