PAPA CLEM SOLD TO CONTINUE STUD CAREER IN TURKEY

Papa Clem, winner of the G2 Arkansas Derby, has been sold to continue his stud career in Turkey.

The deal was brokered by Chad Schumer of Schumer Bloodstock.

Papa Clem, by Smart Strike, was one of the leading colts of his generation, a consistent performer who won the G2 Arkansas Derby and ran placed in the G1 Kentucky Derby, G2 Louisiana Derby and G2 Robert B. Lewis Stakes. He also won the G2 San Fernando Stakes on his only start at four.

In all, he won or was placed in ten of his 13 starts for $1,121,190 in prize-money.

To date, Papa Clem is the sire of six stakes winners including Mischief Clem, the earner of over $300,000, and My Italian Babbo, the recent winner of the California Dreamin’ Handicap at Del Mar.

Papa Clem is one of four winners out of G1 Del Mar Debutante Stakes winner Miss Houdini, a Belong To Me daughter of dual G1 winner Magical Maiden.
