Mare purchase is lucky for Prince Of Wales victory

Coming off a fifth place in the Queen’s Plate for Reade Baker, Breaking Lucky raced at the back of the field before making his bid six wide to fly down the outer of the field and win by a neck from Shaman Ghost. He now boasts two wins from six starts for earnings close to $300,000.

Shooting Party, by Sky Classic, was a four-time winner who ran second in the Garden City Breeders’ Cup Handicap (G1). She is out of stakes winner Ayanka and from the further family of Royal Ascot Group 2 winner Strawberrydaiquiri.

In what has been a successful period for the Haydens, they also campaign this year’s Whimsical Stakes (G3) winner Unspurned, also out of a Schumer Bloodstock purchase.
