Keen Ice runs third in Belmont; dam was a Schumer BS purchase
We were very privileged to be at Belmont Park on Saturday to watch American Pharoah become the first Triple Crown winner in 37 years.
The ease with which American Pharoah swept the Triple Crown marks him down as one of the all-time greats. However, Saturday’s Belmont Stakes also saw KEEN ICE put up an improved and brave display for Dale Romans to take third.
The son of Curlin (pictured) is the first foal out of Medomak, who was purchased on behalf of Saudi Arabian interests for $80,000 at the 2012 Keeneland November Sale.
By Awesome Again, Medomak is a half-sister to the G1-placed Coal Play and from the further family of Verrazano.
Keen Ice now boasts earnings of $310,395.
