Impressive start for Acquitted; dam purchased for €22,000 in Ireland

Acquitted, out of €22,000 Goffs November purchase Blameless, made a sparkling start to his racing career when the impressive winner of his debut at Kempton on Friday.

Acquitted makes a striking debut

Well backed, the Hugo Palmer-trained colt made light of his difficult draw to swoop down the outer and win with a shade in hand under James Doyle.

“This was a bright start and he has plenty of scope for progress with time and distance,” commented the Racing Post.

Remarkably, Acquitted is the second good winner within a month for Blameless following Blame The Ruler, who looked smart in victory for Arturo Cousino and John Hammond at Clairefontaine.

The pair were bred by Lannister Holdings out of Blameless, an Authorized half-sister to the smart Godolphin-trained Very Talented.

This is an excellent Chilean family that goes back to another champion and blue hen Cristalline.

Acquitted was purchased by Avenue Bloodstock and Hugo Palmer for €60,000 at last year’s Goffs Orby Sale.
