Impressive Doha win for yearling purchase Es’Hail

Es’Hail streaks away from the field

Schumer Bloodstock purchase Es’Hail continued his fine run of form on Thursday with an impressive victory in the Very Nice Name Cup at Doha in Qatar.

Previously third in the Qatar Derby (local G1), the son of Giant’s Causeway proved that form was no fluke, storming through the field to win the Very Nice Name Cup by a widening four lengths under Gerald Avranche in the colours of Khalid Rashid Al-Mohannadi.

Es’Hail was purchased as a yearling at the 2016 Keeneland September Sale for $70,000 in conjunction with Johnny Collins of Brown Island Stables. Bred by Pin Oak Stud, he is a half-brother to G3 Acomb Stakes winner Syphax, also bought as a yearling by Schumer Bloodstock. The pair out of the G2-placed Much Obliged, a Kingmambo half-sister to G3 winner Bedanken
