G3 success for La Trafa; sire and dam purchased by Schumer Bloodstock
The result of the Group 3 Prix Selection De Potrancas at Hipodromo Chile in Chile on Saturday represented a major stakes double for Schumer Bloodstock, the purchaser of both the sire and dam of the winner La Trafa.
La Trafa is from the first crop of Ahora, a Tiznow half-brother to Grade 1 winner and leading Kentucky sire Constitution. Ahora stands at Haras Viejo Perro and fittingly La Trafa runs as a homebred for that stud.
She is the first foal out of Belinda Bold, a Scat Daddy half-sister to stakes winner Legal Mind. Belinda Bold was also purchased through Schumer Bloodstock for breeding purposes in Chile.
La Trafa was impressive in victory, stalking the leader Giulia La Bella before striking within the final furlong to win by a wide margin.
