G1 winner Leeman runs second in King Abdulaziz Cup; dam purchased by Schumer BS

“It was great,” Ortiz told the Paulick Report. “My horse ran good. The prince was happy, everyone was happy.”

He added: “They said if he won or finished second, they’re planning on running in the UAE Derby in Dubai. If he goes, I’d really like to ride over there.”

Leeman was bred by Sulaiman M. F. bin Zair Sons out of Number One Cat, a daughter of Storm Cat purchased by Chad Schumer, as agent, for $48,000 while carrying the colt at the 2012 Keeneland November Sale.

Out of G1 winner Vivid Angel, Number One Cat is also the dam of stakes-placed Tizfirst.
