Future looks bright for sale-topper Miss Tapirado

Miss Tapirado, purchased for a sale-topping $1.3 million by Chad Schumer on behalf of HRH Prince Sultan bin Mishal al Saud as a Keeneland April 2yo, looked a filly with a future on Thursday when breaking her maiden on only her second start at Gulfstream Park.

Trained by Bill Mott, Miss Tapirado overwhelmed Katama Moonlight to make a winning debut on the turf. Dinn Righ, a Karakontie filly out of Schumer Bloodstock purchase Linnea Cal, also ran well to take third.

Miss Tapirado, by Tapit, is out of G1 Alcibiades Stakes winner My Conquestadory and a sister to the G2-placed Bourbon War. She was bred in Kentucky by SF Bloodstock LLC and is a graduate of Hartley/DeRenzo Thoroughbreds.
