Full Mandate, sire of Ron The Greek, sold to stand in Saudi Arabia

A $3.2 million yearling, Full Mandate won five races in the colors of Padua Stables and Fog City Stables including the 2003 Black Tie Affair Handicap at Arlington Park for trainer Steve Asmussen.

At stud, Full Mandate has sired 182 winners of 638 races led by top older horse Ron The Greek, winner of the Santa Anita Handicap (G1) and Stephen Foster Handicap (G1) for Bill Mott. Ron The Greek also ran second in the Whitney Handicap (G1) and opened his 2013 campaign with an 11 1/4 length victory in the Florida Sunshine Millions Classic at Gulfstream Park before running fourth in the Santa Anita Handicap (G1) last Saturday.

Full Mandate is also the sire of Willard L Proctor Memorial Stakes winner Thoroughly.

“Full Mandate is the perfect stallion for racing in Saudi Arabia,” said Schumer. “His progeny are sound, durable and best for racing on dirt.”

Bred by G. Watts Humphrey, Full Mandate is out of the Deputy Minister mare Clear Mandate, whose three Grade 1 victories included the 1997 Three Chimneys Spinster Stakes. He is a half-brother to dual Grade 3 winner Newfoundland.
