Foolish Humor strikes in Colleen; dam a Schumer purchase

Well regarded Distorted Humor filly Foolish Cause made the anticipated breakthrough in stakes company on Sunday when awarded the Colleen Stakes at Belmont Park.

It was only the third start for the Wesley Ward-trained two-year-old, who had previously won a MSW at Belmont Park. She was deemed good enough to make the trip to Royal Ascot off the back of that performance but was unlucky to catch rain softened ground in the Windsor Castle Stakes.

Foolish Humor is the first foal out of former Schumer Bloodstock/Omega Farm mare Foolish Cause, who was claimed during the winter of 2015. By Giant’s Causeway, Foolish Humor is a three-parts sister to top turf miler and emerging sire Get Stormy.

Foolish Humor was bred by Gabriel Duignan, Crosshaven Bloodstock, Petaluma Bloodstock and Hazelmere Bloodstock, and races for Andrew Farm
