Fasig-Tipton purchase Moon Swings strikes in Saudi Arabia
Congratulations to Yousef Mohammed Alturaif on the victory of his imported four-year-old Moon Swings on the Group 1 card in Saudi Arabia on Saturday.
The son of Malibu Moon was purchased by Chad Schumer on behalf of Yousef Alturaif for $75,000 at last year’s Fasig-Tipton Summer Selected Horses of Racing Age Sale.
Already stakes-placed in Canada, Moon Swings made the perfect start for his new connections when scoring easily on his debut for trainer Wayne Catalano at Arlington Park in late July.
Moon Swings’ victory preceded that of Alzahzaah in the Group 1 The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup.
Alzahzaah is a son of Worldly (pictured left), who carried Chad Schumer’s colours to third in the Breeders’ Cup Marathon at Santa Anita following his private purchase.
Worldly, a stakes-winning son of A.P. Indy, was subsequently sold to continue his career in Saudi Arabia.
Fellow Schumer stallion purchases SALUTE THE SARGE and ROARING FEVER were also represented by winners on the same card.
