Easy win for yearling purchase High Acclaim at Lingfield
High Acclaim is on course for a step up to better company after making light work of a maiden at Lingfield on Thursday.
The Elusive Quality colt was a $32,000 yearling purchase by Chad Schumer and Brown Island Stables at last year’s Keeneland September Sale. He was resold for £32,000 to trainer Roger Teal at this year’s Tattersalls Ireland Ascot Breeze-up Sale.
High Acclaim showed fine form on his debut at Windsor when third to the highly regarded Groupie and built on that promising performance at Lingfield, quickening well under Fergus Sweeney to win by nearly three lengths.
His win caps a good week for our European-based purchases with 2yo Princeofthequeen, by Lonhro, and 3yo Eisha Flower, by Distorted Humor, each running second on their debuts for David O’Meara and Richard Fahey respectively.
