D’fever strikes again; dam purchased by Schumer B/S
D’fever added a second win to his burgeoning career last week with a dominant display at allowance level at Arlington Park.
Facing older horses for the first time, the three-year-old son of Liaison made all the running and was never challenged to win by close to three lengths.
D’fever, who was winning for the second time in four starts for trainer Hugo Rodriguez, is the first foal out of 10-time winner Cool Johanna.
The daughter of Johannesburg was purchased by Chad Schumer, acting for Wi Tu Low, for just $8,000 while carrying D’fever at the 2015 Keeneland November Sale.
Cool Johanna also has a two-year-old filly by Mr Speaker named Placati.
She recently foaled an Indiana-bred colt by Commissioner and has been bred back to Tamarkuz.
