Big win for Jennifer at Saudi Cup meeting
Jennifer, purchased in utero by Chad Schumer on behalf of Saudi Arabian interests for $22,000, was one of the star acts of the inaugural Saudi Cup meeting as winner of the prestigious The Samba Saudi.
The daughter of Macho Uno closed from well back in the field to run down Shadawah and win impressively by close to four lengths.
It was the mare’s sixth win for owner ALassail Stable; other victories include last year’s The Equestrian Club Award Stakes by ten lengths.
Jennifer, by Macho Uno, is the first named foal out of Gunforhome, a winning daughter of Mingun bought by Chad Schumer for $22,000 at the 2015 Keeneland November Sale.
Gunforhome is a half-sister to the high-class Turallure, whose five wins included the G2 Bernard Baruch Handicap.
