Authoritative G3 success for Saham

Previously victorious in the Crowd Pleaser Stakes at Parx Racing, Saham was settled at the back of the field by Joseph Rocco Jr. before coming with a wide run to overhaul Watchyourownbobber and win going away.

“I don’t know where we would go next to be honest,” Walsh told the TDN. “We ran him last at Indiana Grand and this was probably the main aim for the whole year. We might try to run him once more this year seeing as though he is on top of his game, and see how that goes.”

The son of Lemon Drop Kid, bred in Pennsylvania by Everest Stables Inc., is now the winner of three of his ten starts and nearly $170,000 in earnings.

Also on Saturday, Stormy Lucy gained another G1 bracket when third in the Rodeo Drive Stakes at Santa Anita – she is out of Here Comes Lucinda, bought for $32,000 by Chad Schumer, as agent, at the 2011 Keeneland November Sale.
