Argentinian stud role for Classic-placed Andromeda’s Hero

The son of Fusaichi Pegasus was a tough competitor for Nick Zito, winning four of 25 starts including the Fred W. Hooper Handicap (G3). He also ran many creditable races in defeat, notably when second in the Belmont Stakes (G1), in which he reversed Kentucky Derby placings with the winner Giacomo, and third in the 2006 renewals of the Donn Handicap (G1), Suburban Handicap (G1) and Jockey Club Gold Cup (G1). In all, he earned $836,961.

From four crops of racing age, Andromeda’s Hero is the sire of the Grade 2-placed Go Get The Basil as well as Mom’s Law, winner of the New York Oaks and Jack Betta Be Rite Stakes, and Tequila Hero, winner of the Aspirant Stakes.

Out the winning Storm Bird mare Marozia, Andromeda’s Hero is a brother to the Grade 1-placed Superfly and a half-brother to Traver Stakes (G1) and Cigar Mile Handicap (G1) winner Stay Thirsty.
