Another stakes win for 2yo son of $13,000 purchase

“Since we got him, he’s been very special to us,” Rudy Rodriguez was quoted as saying in the TDN. “He’s been training very, very well. The post position [12] was a little hard; we were thinking of scratching, but I think we made the right decision and he proved it today.”

One of four stakes winners by leading first-crop sire Lookin At Lucky, Good Luck Gus was bred by Fred Hertrich III in New York. He is the sixth foal out of Tacticmove, a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Cat Fight as well as Irish Group 3 winner and sire Ishiguru. Tacticmove is also a half-sister to the dam of Breeders’ Cup Sprint Juvenile runner-up Shumoos.
