Another gem for $45,000 purchase Agatha

An excellent run for Schumer Bloodstock graduates continued at the weekend with the maiden special victories of Reggae Music Man and Bold Agenda.

Ginellen Racing’s homebred Reggae Music Man romped by 6 1/2 lengths to make it third time lucky at Aqueduct. The son of Maclean’s Music is out of $15,000 purchase Shukriya, a stakes-placed daughter of Grand Reward.

On Sunday, Bold Agenda scored at the second time of asking for Todd Pletcher. He adds to the burgeoning profile of his dam Agatha, who was bought for just $45,000 on behalf of Saintsbury Farms Inc while in foal to Liam’s Map in November 2017; since then, Agatha has been represented by a black-type runner and yearlings who have sold for $700,000 and $300,000.

Bold Agenda, by Candy Ride, was the $700,000 yearling in question when purchased by St. Elias / Repole Stable. Agatha is also the dam of Mail Order, a recent maiden special weight winner second time out for Bill Mott.

Agatha, a Distorted Humor half-sister to top sprinter Agnes World, has a yearling colt by West Coast and is due to Uncle Mo.
